I find it hard to believe that any individual who has spent time studying the Bible, or even just 1 John, could come to the conclusion that Outer Darkness could mean anything other than complete separation from God. The motivation for coming up with an interpretation that says otherwise seems to be the creation of different degrees of salvation; which in practice translates into different paths to salvation. There are few heresies as damaging, and therefore as damning, as those which comfort the un-afflicted and justify the unrepentant. If all are equal in Christ here on earth, why would one expect to find something different when all is made perfect in Heaven? While there may be different rewards for different levels of service, there are no second tier citizens in Heaven, there are no untouchables, and God has no step-children.</description>
