Reverence -

The tone of this work was necessarily serious.  There is only one light quip in the whole of it, and that was almost edited out.  The focus was so keen and study so intense humor had to be allowed to explode elsewhere in other short pieces as a relief.  The word of God is the most precious thing a person can get their hand on, and after God, the Lord Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, nothing is more deserving of respect and reverence.  The theory entertained herein includes speculations from portions of scripture, and has made assertions for consideration.  Great care was taken at all times to keep in mind the holiness of the material and keep its author in the author’s mind.  In spite of all this care, the author is painfully aware that other men would have produced a better effort.

Strandings -

The author built his work on the work of other men, and has contributed to that discussion.  The largest contribution has been the discussion herein on the phenomenon of whale and dolphin standings.  Because the treatment is unique and provocative, and deals with physical characteristics of elements and animals that can be directly measured, it’s reasonable to anticipate objections from a certain quarter that might be of the opinion that an unauthorized intruder should be shown the door. In the spirit of objective inquiry, let the question remain at the forefront one which asks how he got in.

The theologian has access to keys men of other specialties and pursuits cannot count on their chain.  Speculating on phenomenon is not the exclusive domain of scientists because they can tie an instrument onto a porpoise’s pasutee and track him. (Interestingly, the porpoise is alternately referred to in Old English as mereswine.) What results from those endeavors is, in some cases, fairly accurate data which can be accessed, and from which fin tales can also be spun.

The Christian has a more sure database to explain the unexplained, and can rely upon it more than upon the changing graphs and charts from technicians and cartographers.  But let’s use for the time what they can explain.

Objection:

If the entrance to the Abyss, from whence demons are summoned to use whales to strike land, and where they are at times banished, is in the Atlantic Ocean; how did the demons, cast out by Jesus into the swine that drown, get to the Atlantic from the Sea of Galilee when it is a land-locked sea?

Let’s take the most difficult part of this objection first.

There are in deep seas caverns where channels of water run many miles through undersea caves and causeways.  There is also something underground called the water table.  Water from precipitation and run off infiltrates the ground and at some depth the ground reaches a saturation point where the water tables in the porous soil and sediment.  In some areas the water table is only a few feet below the ground surface, and in others it’s thousands of feet below.  It’s an underground sea that the Sea of Galilee would be in touch with.  The demons could have been made to have traveled to the abyss in those ways, or in a more obvious one.

The climate in the Mediterranean area is temperate, but still seasonal, and the topography is not static.  Water and even the earth move.

While the area surrounding the Sea of Galilee is dry, there is more water to form tributaries to it in the winter time. When Joshua crossed the Jordan River a fourteen hundred years before Jesus was baptized in it, there was enough water in it to chronicle a crossing requiring special preparation.  When John was baptizing, he found enough water in the Jordan for all comers.

Today, the Jordan River, which connects to the Sea of Galilee from the north, is barely a trickle in some places and dries in the summer in others.  This is due partly to climactic change, ongoing geological change, and manmade obstructions from water projects like dams.  It is not the same today as when Jesus sailed on Galilean waters to meet the demon possessed Gergaseans, but historical maps show the existence of tributaries that appear to join, or be able to connect, the Sea of Galilee through the Jordan out to the Mediterranean Sea, joining it just north of the city of Tyre.

This would have formed an acceptable waterway. From the Mediterranean the demons would pass through the Striate of Gibraltar into the Atlantic.

Six Days of Creation -

There are other references in the Bible for the six days in Genesis and the work performed therein.  The key to their interpretation is careful study.  The Translators of our precious King James Bible were the best men best available for the task or probably could have ever been assembled for the task.  Their work was so thorough and accurate that we can study the individual words they translated into English, and even take issue with some of the choices they made to render them translated.  But nothing so technical is usually at point due to their brilliance and choice of the most accurate manuscripts for their work.

For example we read in Exodus:

For in six das the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath, and hollowed it (Exo 2011).

To better understand what this verse in not saying we may take a word that is in question and apply it to another process.

When we assemble ingredients in their respective quantities  necessary to bake a cake and put them through a process that does indeed produce it, we say accurately that we made a cake; we do not say we created it.  Everything that  was required existed beforehand and only needed to be reorganized and processed.  The word that was translated “created” in Genesis chapter one, verse two, comes from the word  bara  which means create.  The word in the Exodus verse translated “made” comes from the word asah which has a broad sense and wide application and is used for ‘accomplish,’ ‘advance,’ ‘bestow,’ and ‘fashion,’ and does not mean to create.

Videos -

WARNING -The following video depicts clearly the worshiping of demons and the celebration of their doctrines. If you choose to view the video, you may wish to do so on mute so as to lessen the demonic nature of the experience.

By the looks on the faces of some of the men present, they are uncomfortable with the worship.  They should have stood and collected their families and walked out, but the success of the demonic doctrine of feminism which led to the ordination of  women pastors has decimated the headship of men in the churches, and there is little some can now do unless they are willing to leave the church where their wife pastors.

The men are emasculated and the churches go into apostasy.  Paul warned about this progression of demonic seduction that would result from women pastors:

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (1Ti 2:12-14)

Video Description - The animals are led to the pulpit in a procession.  First, women - on both sides to the pavilion - usher bears, one black, one white,  forward in celebratory dance, and the women continue in a provocative urging until they get the bears to rise up on their hind legs.  The colors demonstrate the joining of opposites, and the standing at the pulpit demonstrates the equality of animals to mankind, and their cohabitation in the church as fellow creatures and worshipers (abstain from meats).

Notice that the Sun god high priest has right hand in gesture of Hindu Gyan Mudra, with index finger touching tip of thumb, used induce a state happiness and increased knowledge promised in exchange for worshiping demons.

Notice woman in prominent position behind Sun god high priest, with man in tow behind her amongst the children. Notice woman carrying peace offering.

Notice nature themed banners. Notice foul smelling animals in procession.

Notice in background intricate images of red flames projected on the walls and encircling the audience to disorient them and to impart a spiritual experience, and used as an imitation of the Holy Spirit descending on the platform to welcome worship.

Notice the demon high priest gesturing to give the benediction over the people.

Notice the design of sashes on parade here, of bright colors and pantheistic heathenism.

Notice it all ushered forth with ribbon sticks waved to distract the conscious from reason as was performed in the Babylonian mystery religions, and carried over in the pomp in the Roman Catholic Church of colored vestments and ornate robes.

Notice as a fertility dance is performed on platform. Notice priestesses bring elements to the platform that could represent the communion and raise them for blessing of demons.

Notice , if you did not mute, the worship music is haunting and trance like to produces an altered state of consciousness and renders the audience more susceptible to the worship of demons, and to demon possession.

The demons hang from the rafters and sit in the pews. Waiting. For victims.

Habeas Corpus

Now, it will certainly be argued that it is unreasonable to detect a time space between only two verses in Genesis that could  promote this much speculation about another cosmos and other living Awdawms.  Still, plausible supports are introduced in other scriptures (Jer 4: ; Isa 1:1; 2Pet 1:1), and we know of at least one other place in scripture where a remarkable time space exists.

One Sabbath day, Jesus stood up in the synagogue in Nazareth to read, and He  read from the book of Isaiah:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luk 4:18-19)

Here, Jesus closes the book and hands it back to the minister.  The passage in Isaiah that Jesus read is chapter sixty-one, verses one and two, but Jesus did not stop reading at the end of verse two.  He stopped in the middle of verse two at a comma. On the other side of that punctuation we read: “and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that moun” (Isa 61:2).

That comma is the place mark for over two thousand years and counting, and it is not in between two verses, but in between a single verse of scripture.

As to the significance of time spaces in scripture, the most important event and developments to ever occur took place, and are still taking place, within this gap found in a single verse.

As to the providence of God in the amount of information and the time in which it is revealed, we have the witness of scripture that even His own prophets were not informed about the creation of the Church, or fully comprehended Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection.

I dare say we do not fully comprehend it now.

Even the angles desired to look into the mysteries which waited to be revealed to the Apostles and to us (1Pet 1:12).

The naturalists will most likely not be allowed an habeas corpus, or to produce the body from amongst the dead Awdawms and claim it an evolutionary ancestor of man.  Their destruction may have been on the order of the one reserved for Gog and Magog who Satan will lead in attack against the camp of the saints at the close of the millennium.  There, fire will come down from heaven and completely devour them; vaporized (Rev 20:7-9).

It could also be that some knowledge was passed to demon possessed men as to the Awdawms and their country and how it was destroyed, and from this comes the legend of Atlantis which is supposed to have perished beneath the sea.  The bodies of the Awdawms could be entombed at the bottom of the ocean. If this were the case, it would shed light another curious scripture.

On that final judgment day after the millennium, all the wicked dead, small and great, will stand before God and be judged.  The transaction to bring them before the throne of judgment will be, first, the soul will be summoned from hell, and then it will pass through the grave to be embodied so it can stand in its sins and be judged.  This is what is meant by “death [the grave] and hell delivered up the dead which were in them” (Rev 20:13).

This description is complete to cover all anthropos, or human beings, but this transaction is preceded by one in which the sea gives up all the dead which are in it (Rev 20:13).

This seems to indicate that a different race of Awdawms who are held at the bottom of the ocean are to be judged first.  Paul tells us that all things will be done in their proper order as to the resurrections (1Cor 15:23-24), and so it would make sense for the Awdawms to be resurrected for judgment first.

Because their disembodied spirits did not go to hell but to the abyss, and their bodies may lie concealed under the bottom of the ocean (q.v.), their bodies and spirits would be collected before leaving the depth of the ocean to be judged.  This is why when the sea gives up its dead; hell is not included in that transaction.

To further substantiate the connection between the Awdawms and Satan we learn reading the account of his future demise: “They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas” (Eze 28:8).  This cannot be an allusion to a drowning sensation Satan is to experience in the pit, for not every anthropos drown who was slain in the sea.

Here the slain in the sea are again most likely a special class who are in the middle of probably the Atlantic ocean.  We know that Satan will be bound and cast into the Abyss for a thousand years prior to being released one last time to tempt a rebellion before being cast into the lake of fire (Rev).  Here he is reminded that his fate is tired to the fate of the Awdawms which he led in his rebellion in the Pre-Adamite earth.

With this in mind, we may see that there is more of a poetic quality to Satan’s demise then has previously been entertained:

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. (Eze 28:6-8)

The passage has been rendered by the translators in mortal terms.  In light of this observation, and incorporating what scripture does tell us, a variant reading of the passage in the author’s paraphrase:

“Because of you purposed in your heart to be God, desired and sought to ascend to throne and rule as a god, the Awdawms will be the cause for you being cast into the abyss where the foreign, strange, and profane disembodied spirits of the Awdawms, who are exceedingly mighty and terribly violent as many troops of animals, and are as pervasive and inescapable as a flight of horrible supernatural locusts; there they will actually rule over you, and your beauty and wisdom will be the wound of your defilement, and that is the splendor you have exchanged your splendor for.   They will have power over you to do this for a thousand years, and after that time you will die the death of eternal torment with them in the lake of fire.”

Considering the scriptures being examined deals with Satan’s rebellion and destruction, and his destruction is not one that can be accomplish by men and their weapons; the words tending towards the supernatural rendering were chosen from amongst the verity of Strong Concordance definitions available for them.  Nevertheless, the author does not care for paraphrases, and does not recommend them.

All of this reversal of fortune takes place while the called out ones are ruled over for the same period of time in splendor and peace by their righteous King whose throne will be set up on the restored earth He possesses. Poetic justice.

The foregoing is a theory to explain the old appearance of the earth.  Of course, none of this is necessary to explain why the earth looks so old.  It could look old because it’s old, and for no other reason.  Other theories have been postulated that connect the age of the earth to the speed of light.  It has to do with the idea that the speed of light is slowing down, and suggests that events transpired faster, and so in smaller increments of time only thousands of year ago.

The author favors this theory because it, as good theories should, provides possible answers to other mysteries as well.

We should come away from this study more intrigued by the awesome reasoning of Him who subjected us in frailty so that we may reside in hope, and with a renewed appreciation for the scope of the plan of salvation and the intricacies in its transaction.  We should now be more apt to engage the scriptures than to entertain science fiction (such as evolution), and able to more clearly see the dissimilar nature of different things.

Demanding a young earth is not the same as defending God as the creator of all things, and accepting an old earth is not the same as accepting the theory of evolution.

Nor is looking at an old earth theory the same as looking back on the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra contrary to divine instruction; you will not become a pillar of salt for doing so.

We are witnessing a dividing in the Church over the subject of the age of the earth because it is presented as a package with two separate subjects which do not share the same compartment.  What is traveling therein is a misunderstanding that has mistakenly joined together a dichotomy and presented it as a tenet of Christian faith.  This harms two groups.

The saints are doggedly herded into a camp with unstable walls and told to bar the doors against an enemy that doesn’t exist; despite what their common sense tells them.  This behavior of placing faith in something questionable out of a conjured fear that doubting it would destroy the word of God can lead Christians into other areas of dissonance.

Over time, they will begin to tread lightly on their faith from a fear that standing firm on it would subject it to stress whereby its weaknesses would be revealed.

The scientists who are attacked to the gospel will stop short of accepting Christ as savior and hear Him only as philosopher so long as they  believe they must abandon the reality He has created to accept Him in reality.

We are comforted to know that those who are saved cannot be lost, and those who will be saved cannot be disappointed, but we are all nonetheless subject to scandal in this life, or treatment by it that prevents us from reaching many of what otherwise would be our attainments.  To this: woe to him who willfully causes scandal and correction to him who by error causes men to stumble.

Doctrine of Demons

The demons, which may be the disembodied spirits of the Awdawms from the Pre-Adamite earth, are sentient.  They possess faculties of intelligence and knowledge acquired over centuries from direct experience and observation. They are better acquainted with us than we are with ourselves, and may pass on information about us to other demons residing in possessed men so that they may appear clairvoyant, or physic, and lead people astray following after them.  Demons are more knowledgeable about the Bible and God’s reveled plans then most of the human race (by comparative example, Satan quotes scripture).

When Jesus arrived by ship to the country of the Gergesenes he was met by two demon possessed men, and the demons asked if He were going to torment them before the time; thus indicating they know there is an appointed time for their tormenting, and that it did not coincide with the first appearance of Christ (Mat 8:28-29).

The Demons resist the hastening of their fate by opposing Christianity.  They do this by opposing Bible doctrine.  Their strategy is to imitate and replace sound doctrine with their own doctrines.  They use great powers of seduction in getting their own doctrines taught even in the churches; to the extent that many depart from the faith (1Tim 4:1). There artifice is seduction, which they employ to conceive sensuality.

Is it not a seducing spirit that preaches the doctrine of prosperity for obtaining wealth so that the flesh may be sensually satiated and pampered?

As we draw closer to the end of the age, demonic activity continually increases (1 Tim 4:1).  This does not mean it can be spotted only in manifestations of demonic influences on isolated individuals, though reports that are hard to be censored due to their public nature are becoming more frequent.  Witness the attack on marriage to destroy it.  The abolition of marriage is a doctrine of demons.

When demons take control of their victims, they cauterize, or sear, their conscious so that it is rendered unfeeling and thus completely supportive of the lies they tell which are contained in the doctrines of demons (1 Tim 4:2).

Their doctrine of forbidding to marry is not one of celibacy (1Tim 4:3), but of discontinuing the relationship in order to be promiscuous outside it, and to engage in all manner of perverted sexual behavior.  The rise in divorce and the acceptance of homosexuality in the churches is the success of the doctrine of demons.

The command to abstain from meat is a doctrine of demons (1Tim 4:3).  A vegetarian diet makes a person more susceptible to spiritual forces, and this includes demonic forces as well.  The rise of the animal rights movement is the result of this doctrine of demons.

The campaigns to reduce phantom carbon footprints by eating less beef, and the push to go to agrarian diets to lessen our impact on mother earth, are the products of this doctrine of demons.  The worshiping of the creatures more than the creator (Rom 1: 25), which is an integral component of the global warming fraud, and that is taking place in the churches, is the success of this doctrine of demons.

The change in the message churches preach from Christian evangelism to green evangelism is made possible by the embrace of doctrines of demons.  Christians who remain in churches that preach that message are having fellowship with demons.  Those churches that preach that message and continue to take the cup of communion are taking communion with demons, and are partakers of the table of demons (1Cor 10:20-21).

The table of demons is a platform in churches upon which sensuous entertainments of sight and sound are performed in song and lurid dance.  False teachers invest in expensive sound and lighting systems and ply them on congregants to more easily seduce them into doctrines of demons.

These congregants are both acting as one body and are individually responsible for worshiping demons.  We have it on record that ignorance is no excuse for the saint: “Now the Spirit speaketh [teaches] expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils [demons];” (1Ti 4:1).  If you have the spirit of God, you are his, and the Holy Spirit ensures you should know better.  Come out from among them.

People who are fawning over these false teachers, and following them, and floating them financial, are worshiping demons (Rev 9:20).  Their apologists and defenders and disciples are themselves, if they are not possessed outright, under the influence of demons.

In some cases, false prophets are finally given over to lying spirits to destroy them and their adherents just as the false prophets of old were who lied for Ahab (1 Ki 22:19-23; 2 Thes 2:11).

Lying spirits are in the mouths of false prophets today who claim to serve the one true God, but teach heresies.  The demons hang from the rafters and sit in the pews waiting for victims turned over to them by the success of those teachers.  The horrible things they do to people once they seize them may, in part, stem from their animus towards us for succeeding them as a race with a special design in play.

By the activity of these spirits it is evident there is an altogether different dispensation of rules for their existence and application of laws which are not applicable to mankind.

There is a trend in scripture pertaining to anthropos, mankind in the lineage of Adam, where their spirits are immediately released upon death and dispatched to their respective destinations; from whence they cannot pass over again to communicate with the living.

The penitent thief beside Jesus on the cross went to paradise where Jesus met him when he died that day (Lk 23:43).  Paul tells us that for Christians, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Cor 5:8). The unrepentant die and go to hell. The rich man who had fared sumptuously, and who died and went to hell, was separated from the beggar Lazarus, who died and was carried by angles to Abraham’s bosom, by an impassible gulf; and he was not permitted to communicate even a warning to his brethren of the torment awaiting the unrepentant (Lk 16:43).

The question naturally arises as to why demons, as the disembodied spirits of Awdawms, are not spirits confined in some prison, such as hell, but instead are free to roam about like familiar spirits and to communicate their doctrines (Isa 8:19).

But here an aside must be taken which, though dealing with a different topic, is an important part of the answer.

[Editor’s Note: more on doctrine of demons in the Afterword.]

Origin of Demons

In his second epistle, Peter addressed an argument of the scoffers.  They argued that all things continued the same from the creation.  Certainly, Noah and the human race, and the animals, and the plants that Noah’s flood did not destroy, continued from the antediluvian world after Noah’s flood.  The scoffers did not have their eye on the flood of Noah, but they certainly were not ignorant of it.  If that were the case, Peter would not have described a flood where the world did not continue on its own from creation reproducing life, a flood where the world actually “perished” (ap-ol-loo-mee, G622, to destroy fully, 2Pet 3:6).

If it were merely a case of the scoffers denying Noah’s flood, Peter would have certainly used Noah’s name in rebutting them.  His audience was as familiar with the account as we are, and so were the scoffers.  For Peter to give details of a flood that don’t include details of an ark, animals, and Noah and his family, also identifies it as a different flood.

It cannot be said that Peter was generally lax in providing details when he knew them, or was unable to draw them into a small space.  In this same epistle, Peter recounts in succession the angles who had a particular falling, followed by the flooding of Noah’s old world and his deliverance, then the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha and Lot’s deliverance; and identifying these all by their names (2 Pet 2:4-8).

The reason the account of the perishing flood, which took place prior to Genesis chapter one verse two, is absent of details is because the Bible provides no detailed information as the names of the Awdawms who inhabited it (q.v.), the names of their cities, its duration, or the cause of its destruction (though we know the means).

The Bible does provide some details, as has been pointed out, and Peter was not only acquainted with them; he also held the scoffers to the same level of familiarity by claiming they were being willfully ignorant of it in making their argument.  The incident, then, appears to have been somewhat common knowledge, what could be known of it, during the time Peter was writing.

Now we have a different flood, with different Awdawms who were all destroyed in it, and now we may have an explanation as to the origins of demons.  The fallen angels are not to be confused with demons. Angels have bodies.  Demons are disembodied spirits.

After Noah’s flood, God commanded Noah to “replenish the earth” (Gen 9:1), and curiously these are the same instructions given to Adam and Eve after God created them (Gen 1:28).  It is not so curious an instruction if we admit the earth was plenished prior to Adam and Eve, as it was prior to Noah’s flood.  That race of Awdawms may have resembled us closely in physical form, and had similar passions as we possess.  They also would have been living souls; souls that would have been unclothed by the destruction of the world that was in the heavens of old.

As disembodied souls, they are unable to indulge themselves in their lusts, and this would explain why they take possession of humans, and why demon possessed people are given to satiating their flesh with all manner of sinful behavior.  Their manner is often so depraved that, in gratifying their physical sensualities, they wear their victims out in a horribly destructive manner.

They also commit heinous crimes of the most brutal and diabolical nature for their own amusement.

Demons exert power over their hosts by causing dumbness (Mat 9:32-33),  blindness (Mat 12:22), and driving them insane (Lk 8:26-35).  The Awdawms could have been much stronger than men, for when demons possess them they can obtain supernatural strength (Lk 8:29).  If this were the extent of demonic activity, as terrible as is, our attention might be confined rebuking their hindrance to the gospel, and to the physical relief and spiritual redemption of individuals.

There is another communicable evil in demonism that is even more destructive, and which is a persistent opposition we continually wrestle against (Eph 5:11; 6:12).

If we entertain now this other interpretation of the Genesis account, questions arise as to how long the earth remained a desolated ruin, and why the earth, created to be inhabited, became a desolation and ruin, and how the earth became without form, and void.  The first question cannot be answered, but the second may be speculated upon if the answer to how the earth became that way is accepted, and the details of the account are given their natural interpretation.

These details come in a vision the Lord gave to Jeremiah:

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. (Jer 4:23-26; emphasis added)

Here, the condition of the earth is described by Jeremiah exactly in the same way it is given in Genesis prior to God removing it from that condition, but with some added details.

Again, we are presented with an earth that was “without form and void,” and there also was darkness as no light penetrated through the heavens.  The prophet adds that the fruitful place, or the fields, orchards and vineyards, were made into a wilderness.  Further, he adds that cities had also existed and were broken down.

This destruction seems to have been accomplished by catastrophic earth quakes; which came about when the Lord God came and destroyed it all in his fierce anger, or wrath, and the destruction was so complete that no man, or no adam (aw-dawm, H120; human being, or person) was present or survived it.

If we allow that the topography of the earth was different and the fountains of the deep that assisted in Noah’s flood were also accessible, it is easy to see that such earthquakes would precede a world flood.

Now from this vision given the Jeremiah, it would appear that the earth, originally created to be inhabited, was inhabited by a race of Awdawms, and that they, no doubt assisted, eventually did such evil as to provoke the Lord to destroy them off the face of the earth.  After the destruction of that race, the Lord put the earth in cold storage.

This interpretation would give scientists their due if they are actually able to date rocks, but that is all it would give them.

Alternately, a preexisting earth that was populated, and that sank to such an evil state that every imagination of their heart was to do evil continually, so that God repented that he made them and decided to destroy the Awdawms and all the other creatures, would give more to the Christian.

It’s true that the above scenario is borrowed from the era of Noah’s flood.  It’s not true that Noah’s flood is the one Peter references in chapter three of his second epistle (2 Pet 3:3-6)

Restoration of Earth

Instead of containing language describing the genesis of materials, the passage on the reorganization of the earth has the distinct tone of sorting out preexisting things.  In the first day, God turns a light on (Gen 1:2).  This is not the creation of the sun, or all the other stars, or even the creation of light itself.  It is the illumination of a planet which was shrouded in darkness bought into a resurrection day, and God called the darkness night, and the light day.

On the second day, God divided the waters to create the atmosphere which contains water in it and sometimes forms into clouds. Notice, of all the works in the six days this is the only one for which its end does not include the words “and God saw that it was good.” This may be because the Prince of the power of the air and his subordinate principalities, and the demons immediately, and in some case gradually, made the atmosphere their home (Eph 2:2; 6:12).

On the third day, God gathered the waters on earth together in order for the dry land to appear, and not to be created.  Then, God commands that the seeds which already were “upon the earth” germinate and produce (Gen 2:11-13).

On the fourth day, the clouds break and the sunlight and moonlight can reach the earth.  When God says he “made” this happen, the word is not the same as the word “created” in verse one; it is an act of bringing something about, not creating things (cf baw-raw, H1254, to create; aw-saw, H6213, to do or make).

God does not begin creating anything new until the fifth day where fish and fowls are created.  On the sixth day, God creates animals, and man.  Notice that all living creatures procreated immediately “after their kind,” and this is made very clear by the term being repeated five times.  There were no intermediate life forms.

This is only a brief description of the six days of restoration and creation, and it is from the perspective that earth was created earlier before this week of days.  The days of this week are literal twenty-four hour days, clearly identified by their components of mornings and evenings.

Certainly, a reading of Genesis chapter one can easily produce the commonly held interpretation the earth was created in this week.  If that were not the case, then so many learned and reputable men would not have held the view.  Unfortunately, some of our learned men of today are unnecessarily beside themselves to devote study to what is germane to the subject.

Of the contemporary arguments for a young earth, many articulate a defense aimed more at refuting Darwinian evolution then examining the text for variant readings.  Many are diverted to entering into another argument altogether over a popular theory in science which is by no means central to the examination, but the fear of it leads good men to see its efficacy looming so strong besides them that they are compelled to turn aside to address it.

Consequently, a straw man receives too much attention, and Christians are admonished, at length, to accept a young earth explanation because it would make our lives less complicated, and because to consider an older earth would be tantamount to conceding too much valuable ground to the evolutionists.  From this concern, talks that are scheduled with provocative titles promising to explain why the earth looks so old spend little time on actually doing so, and degenerate into making contiguous all other Bible doctrines to a young earth,  and urging the door be bared against an old earth least evolution get its it foot in too and all the dominos fall.

It is painful to witness some men of high stature so misapply their skills.  Fortunately, the bankrupt and easily discredited theory of evolution was not always so frightful to other men.

In times past, other learned men in the faith did not see the earth’s creation in Genesis chapter one, verse two, nor feel threatened by scientists espousing naturalism.  The view that the earth was created before Genesis verse two is by no means a new one.  The interpretation is at least several hundred years old when dated by works from competent Bible expositors, and it appears to have been the view that was popular two centuries ago; in the first century church.  Further, a world that existed before this one, and was destroyed, may even be a fact that was known thousands of years ago by men inspired by God.

In the Gap

Where the Bible is silent, we may speculate.  As long as that speculation does not contradict the Bible, and is consistent with the character of God and His plans and purposes for the ages; entertaining some speculations should not divide us.  There have been reputable and learned Christian expositors who have found silence between the first and second verses in Genesis chapter one.

The Genesis account that has been interpreted to be both an account of the creation of earth and the creation of man in short successive acts may only in fact be the restoration of earth and the creation of a new creature to inhabit it.

Indeed, the first verse in the Bible identifies God as the creator, and when taken with the second verse we specifically learn that, in their respective beginnings, God created heaven and the earth, and he created man.  There is, however, something we are presented with in verse two that does not immediately follow verse one.

When God sets about to create man we are at the same time presented with an earth in a condition that is uninhabitable.  Many have assumed that the account of earth’s condition changing from that point leading up to man’s creation was a part of the earth’s original creation process.

Actually, the details associated with preparing the earth for habitation seem more consistent with a process of restoration rather than a process of creation.  The implication: the earth described in Genesis chapter one, verse two, is an earth which was created some time before in verse one, and it had become a desolation before being approached again in verse two:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Gen 1:1)

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Gen 1:2).

The Bible tells us that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen 1:1).  Elsewhere in scripture we also learn the earth was created to be inhabited, and that the process of its creation did not include a period where it lay as a formless desolation:

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain [to-hoo, 8414, “without form” (Gen 1:2); a desolation], he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD ; and there is none else. (Isa 45:18; emphasis and Strongs added)

It does not comport with the intention of creating the earth to place it for an indeterminable amount of  time as a waste and ruin; as is described in the second verse in Genesis, chapter one:

And the earth was without form, and void [to-hoo, 8414, a desolation; bo-hoo, 922, an undistinguishable ruin]; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Gen 1:2; emphasis and Strongs added)

This is the condition of the earth when God approaches it, the Spirit of God moves upon the face to the waters, and begins His work on it.  The earth and the deep were all created in another separate act back in the beginning, and here the Lord is performing a different act; one of restoration.  This is why no details are provided as to the actual creation of land, or of water (an indispensable feature for earth to support life).

Introduction

The idea that the earth may be older than a few thousand years is a heretical one for many Christians.  The concern is that if an additional number of years numbering in the millions, or even billions, were added to the age of the earth it would contradict the creation account in the Bible.  By tracing genealogies beginning at Adam, and allowing for the extra hundreds of years people live prior to the flood, the age of the  earth has been estimated to be anywhere from six to fifteen thousand years or so.   It is feared by some that not one, but two consequences of acknowledging that the earth existed many years before man was created on it would be a capitulation on the order of spelling the end of faith.

In addition to seeing the Bible discredited, it would follow that the competing narrative for creation fills the whole space and thus reigns supreme.  It is thought that by pondering an older earth the evolutionists will be given a concession necessary to their argument that man was created by the process of evolving, and independent of any outside forces other then nature.  While it is true that a vast amount of time is an essential component to their theory, it is not sufficient to establish it as fact.

There are two other supports that must be obtained and established before evolutionists may rest their argument on a firm foundation, and these they will never possess.  The first of these missing elements is proof, and the second requirement is to demonstrate that God is a liar.

The litany of discredited artifacts and bones and supposedly replicated processes that were once advanced as proof, and that were later discovered to be misidentified, misdated,  invalid, or hoaxes, and which were nonetheless embraced by science until their unraveling is a subject for another paper.  The scandals have been addressed by competent authors and may be easily obtained.  The point has been made as sharp as it needs to be to puncture; there is no proof, and the Bible makes it clear will there ever be any proof of Darwinian evolution.

The Bible tells us that God formed man from the dust of the ground, and that he was completely formed up to his nostrils before God breathed the breath of life into him (Gen 2:7).  As the word of God refutes the evolutionists, their theory is clearly a fraud, and as the theory allows for no evolution of inanimate objects, not even the heresy of theistic evolution can be coaxed out of creation account.

As to the veracity of the account, we need only know that “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Num 23:19).  God is not a liar.

With these unfailing assurances, we are unfettered to approach the Bible on its own terms.

Much Learning Doth Make Thee Mad

March 18th, 2009 by David Dansker

ngc2818_hheritage_800yy22.jpgThe book Orthodoxy by G. K. Chesterton is a collection of collegent digressions where the author toys with reversing positives into negatives and examining what is right side up wrong side down in a lateral thinking game.  It is an exercise of applying thesis against antithesis from an arbiter’s middle perch;  the vantage point which seems to imbue those who successfully entertain such exercises with enviable perspicuity.  This is the stuff passed around dormitories where unsuspecting sophomores have their Bohemian days.

It is sad that those rumored to have maturity in the faith would take the time to study under Chesterton, and cite him in their own works on the faith. At point is John Piper, who is pressed by admirers to be some Christian thinker of our times.  Indeed, Piper has authored several Christian books over the years.  Nevertheless, he remains so impressed by Chesterton’s prose lamenting mankind’s lack of conviction for the truth that he included it in his book Brothers We Are Not Professionals, and Piper quotes this from him:

What we suffer from today is humility in the wrong place.  Modesty has moved from the organ of ambition.  Modesty has settled upon the organ of conviction; where it was never meant to be.  A man was meant to be doubtful about himself, but undoubting about the truth.1

This, for all its purported value in assertiveness training for truth bearers , is but nothing more than a self-affirmation that Chesterton was a living example of his own complaint.  It will turn out well for all those who were enamored with Chesterton, for all his sophistry, and who later discover that he was a fool; he would as soon doubt the word of God as toy with the implications of doing so.

On page 30 of Orthodoxy, Chesterton caves under the scientific evidence available to him in 1908, and joins the throngs of Darwinists happy to call God a liar:

If evolution simply means that a positive thing called an ape turned very slowly into a positive thing called a man, then it is stingless for orthodoxy; for a personal God might just as well do things slowly as quickly , especially if , like the Christian God, he were outside time.2

Appealing to the fact that God can do things the way He chooses to argue in favor of theistic evolution is asinine.  Where the Bible is silent, good men may speculate, but to contradict it where it has spoken is to wield the sting of poison.  On the subject, thus saith the Lord:  “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Gen 2:7).

Let the writer here repeat himself from an earlier defense of the Bible where this verse was treated:

At one time, and in one instance, man was fully formed up to his nostrils before he had any life in him at all-no living cells struggling for survival, no grotesque mutating and mindless devouring as protoplasm. God completely formed him out to the dust of the ground and then breathed into him the breath of life, and by miraculous means man became a living soul; not an intermediate soul, not half a soul, but a living human soul in its entirety starting life in the image of God.3

What then of these Christian writers who fawn over purveyors of heresy?  Is it a case of much learning making them mad?  Festus leveled that charge against the Apostle Paul in an attempt to discredit him and the gospel (Acts 26:24).  Of course it was not true, but the charge itself is not without meat.

We should have discussions about what’s important, but not forget the rule and caution of discussion.  The more that we dialogue, the further away from the point we get.  This is why conclusions are necessary in writing, and, more importantly, why we who are in the faith must strive to finish well.  The Lord does not lie, though his ways are past finding out; God made man out of the dust of the ground during one day, he raised another from the dead in only three.  Let the redeemed of the Lord sing: “Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints” (Rev 15:3).  We must contend for the faith.  Let us not write so much about something that we remove ourselves from the something we’re supposed to be about.  Nor let us knowingly endorse those in our citations who deceptively plant seeds of doubt attacking the word of God.

Science Closes In on New Species of Intermediate Life Form

January 29th, 2008 by David Dansker

iss015e21944xx77.jpg

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. (1Ki 18:21)

In the search for intermediate life forms to support the theory of evolution none have been discovered. New developments out of the science community, however, reveal that some scientists appear poised to identify an intermediate life form by creating it themselves. In what has become a long and protracted campaign to do just that, a new effort by the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine (NAS/IMO) has resulted in a 70-page book titled Science, Evolution, and Creationism. In the text they attempt to bolster the theory of evolution, and persuade religious people that they sacrifice nothing in joining their ranks. The effort is aimed not only at convincing religious people that science and religion are compatible, but that religious people can also embrace the theory of evolution without contradicting the biblical account of creation. The evidence already suggests similar efforts on their part have met with significant success, and that there is, in fact, a means to classify an emerging intermediate life form. To treat this new, emerging species, religious people will hereafter be referred to in this piece as religious-man.

According to NAS/IMO, their book “shows that science and religion should be viewed as different ways of understanding the world rather than as frameworks that are in conflict with each other and that the evidence for evolution can be fully compatible with religious faith.”1 The catch for this compatibility is that religious-man needs to make a few adjustments, or concessions, in the way they interpret the Bible. The reward to be gained from the science community is the vaulted mantle of co-existence. The compromise to be granted by the religious-man is: everything.

iss015e21945yy47.jpgNaturalists, those who put their faith in the theory of evolution for the genesis of life, flatly reject God’s explanation for the creation of mankind, and that does not mean that they co-exist as on equal planes with respective merit. It means that, between the two of them, at best, one of them is wrong, and at worst one of them is a liar. Because God is not a liar, the task of assigning error and uncovering deceit is made easier. While Naturalists in general are only wrong when they put their faith in spontaneous generation of life by some chance environmental conditions and unintelligent forces that, through a blind natural selection process, eventually produced mankind, the scientists at NAS/IMO are liars for at least false representation. They are representing religion as one of the two methods of human understanding that are of equal value. This, they do not genuinely mean.

The reality is that religious-man is held to be inferior to the naturalist, or scientific-man, and the actual offer being extended by the latter is for the former to submit to the authority of science. Practically, they are to submissively enter the box naturalists have prepared for them so that they may be placed on a shelf and marked as exhibits of intermediate life forms; not fully evolved to the extent that the naturalists are (representing no small victory in that it would be the first intermediate life form yet produced for their theory). Then, the naturalists will accept religious-man as their ignorant wards, and make all the pertinent decisions on their behalf, and at their expense.

Honest members of the evolutionary-faithful do not dispute this. Except for the way a few of these points are herein stated in so unsavory a fashion, this is what, by the mechanics of their theory, they’ve come to believe. It is only when the high priests of science go trolling for religious converts, and more advantageous footing, are the terms of surrender euphemistically referred to as co-existence. They continue to invest in this strategy because its tactics, exemplified in this new book, continue to pay huge dividends.

There are growing numbers of religious-man who have embraced the theory of evolution as an explanation for the biblical account of creation. Naturalists have approvingly thumbed the starched lapels of their lab coats at the obsequious fawning of converts who bring forth such offerings to their altar of faith as Theistic Evolution.

The methods approved by the scientists at NAS/IOM which produce these sorts of heresies were put on record by Alan Leshner, CEO of American Association for the Advancement of Science, in an interview on the book Science, Evolution, and Creationism, where he said:

Over and over, religions that see the Bible as an allegory, as a description of an overall process that isn’t tied to literal day by day, those religions seem to understand better how science can co-exist with a religious belief or even a biblical belief. It’s the literalist point that has tremendous problems.2

Notice what is advanced to tender this co-existence: a detailed list of the demands for surrender that are at issue; and the scientists at NAS/IMO and AAAS might be acknowledged for their honesty in that, but it is made more from the strength of their disdain than their cool resolve for objectivity.3

Certainly, the naturalists will accept, on limited terms, any who will recant that the Bible is the literal word of God. Surely, they will welcome, to a certain extent, those who will confess the Bible is nothing more than an allegory; a feeble attempt of primitive men to explain things that only scientists can be trusted to divulge, that only naturalists have evolved enough wisdom to understand, that only the result of blind chance and unintelligent forces could comprehend. Tremendous problems indeed.

Contrary to what NAS/IMO claim, this is by any definition conflict. Opposed are two narratives for the explanation of life and its purpose. At odds are two distinct groups of people; those who have a faith grounded in a theory, and those who have a faith grounded in theology, those who deny the existence of God,4 and those who take him at His word. Literally.

iss015e21945yy41.jpgThere is, however, a growing middle; an intermediate life form of religious-man, not fully Bible-believing, not fully naturalist. This foray into the realm of creationism by the NAS/IMO that includes overtures to this religious-man is not expected to topple Bible-believing men. That would be too much for them to hope for. On that score, they would gladly settle for intimidation. This is a continued effort, in part, to create more of these useful intermediates. By another part, the campaign is designed to mollify the already converted religious-man. It is a calculated effort to sooth him so he will pay no attention to rising chorus of challenge to the exclusivity of one failed theory barring all other discussions on the subject of origins; to the extent that naturalists will not even discuss the scientific evidence that disproves the theory of evolution, or confront the fraudulent portrayal of supporting fabrications still published in school textbooks.

This new book from NAS/IMO exemplifies a polished and well funded campaign being run against the Bible. In its face, it is hoped that some Bible-believing men might pause, and religious-man ought to be kept quiet while his children are stolen away from him and turned unto fables. What needs to be reiterated by Bible-believing man, as he presses the play, and learned by religious-man, is, again, there are no intermediate life forms. There are none to support the theory of evolution, and none to support an intermediate state of salvation. Nothing can save religious-man but complete faith in God, as is revealed in the Bible, and the same is true for naturalists. Literally.
