Next time you order a cup of Joe at Starbucks you may not be asked if they should save you room for cream in your coffee, but you could be asked to save some time for global warming indoctrination. As part of the coffee giant’s agreement to promote Arctic Tale, a documentary on global warming scheduled for release in July, live guest speakers will be appearing at Starbuck stores in major cities.
Global Warming is the theory that climate change on the order of worldwide warming temperatures is anthropogenic. Any humans not convinced with the pseudo scientific data used to support these assertions is being attacked by a campaign similar to the one used against smokers who were willing to assume the risks of their personal choice. Films increasingly rely on images of cute fuzzy animals floating down the current on a melting slab of ice into extinction every time an SUV pulls out of a driveway. The message is that while some may be willing to call global warming theorists on their skewed data, second-hand global warming is killing innocent victims. Of course, this message is heavily marketed to kids to train up the next generation.
This is, after all, the salvation gospel of the church of sustainability, and many businesses are becoming their houses of worship.
The good news is consumers of high caffeine beverages, such as coffee, usually have less patience for the theoretical hot air behind the topic of green house gasses. The bad news is that during rush hour longer lines may create instances of prolonged exposure. Can anyone say “captive audience”?
