China is reportedly in the grip of global cooling.  Hail storms have killed 14 people thus far and injured 180, with more dangerous weather in the forecasts.  In Beijing, day literally turned to night as another storm lashed the city at about noon today.  The footnote that makes this story news?  This is June 16, 2009.

The Heartland Institute will be hosting the second International Conference on Climate Change in New York City March 8 - 10, 2009. Over 70 leading scientists are scheduled to confront the global warming theory with new research that contradicts it.¹ Also invited to attend is geologist and former astronaut Harrison Schmitt who resigned from the Planetary Society after it blamed mankind for warming the planet.  According to Schmitt, the “global warming scare is being used as a political tool to increase government control over American lives, incomes and decision making.”²  With perspective like that you’d think the guy stood on the moon and looked back; and he did.

Here is how it would work: 1) huge new green taxes are to be levied on everyone and everything that moves or stands still. 2) the money goes to Washington for politicians to spend it on stimulus packages to bail out businesses that have gone broke because of the cost the new taxes have added to doing business. 3) this further stains on the economy causing industry to implode and collapse. 4) the dramatically reduced industrial activity has no affect on climate change due to the main factors responsible: such as volcanic activity, cyclical changes in ocean temperature, and the influences from outside the solar system such as the impact that cosmic rays have on cloud production.  5) politicians determine the reason for failing to control the climate is that taxes were not high enough, and the new little ice age we are experiencing is more global warming.

You can get this ridicules stuff here, or you can get from people who work at NASA.  No joke.  According to NASA scientist Jim Hansen, a leading climate expert, Barack Obama has only four years to save the earth, and he is calling for the precipitous actions outlined above by demanding step one be taken immediately.

Global Warming - “Just when politicians in Europe and America have been adopting the most costly and damaging measures politicians have ever proposed, to combat this supposed menace, the tide has turned in three significant respects.” In the first place, computer models touted to be near inerrant failed to predict the current plunge in temperatures.  The global warming faithful no doubt hoped that the dropping mercury and rising snow levels which began last winter would be an anomaly and minor inconvenience to their inconvenient spoof, but the cooling continues through this winter.  Secondly, natural forces such as ocean currents, which man cannot find a dial to control, have rightly diminished the idea of humans affecting climate.  Thirdly, hundreds of scientists, including meteorologists, are finding the nerve and resolve to speak out openly against the politics of fear and intimidation that under gird the preposterous lie that mankind is driving the weather to his detriment, and only government mediation in the form of oppressive taxes and lifestyle restrictions can save the planet.

The sun is unusually quiet as it begins to enter an expected solar maximum. Every eleven years the sun normally goes through a solar cycle and by now it should be ratcheting up activity, but instead it’s holding an uncharacteristic two-year calm. The last cycle peaked in 2001, and this one should peak in 2012. The cycle alternates between minimum and maximum solar activity. Maximums are characterized by an increases in sunspots and solar flares which adversely affect satellite technology, and even regional power grids here on earth. This is one of the reasons why scientists pay close attention to the sun. Another reason for close observation is that both the solar minimums and the maximums also drive climate patterns.¹

The last time a solar maximum remained flat for an extremely long period the earth experienced the little ice age which occurred approximately from 1350 through 1850. There is no way to accurately forecast how long the current phase of solar inactivity will continue, but if it lasts for another period of 50 years, as it did when it ushered in the little ice age, New York Harbor could freeze over again, and shorter growing seasons might produce famines, as happened in Europe, again.

Nevertheless, the theory of anthropogenic global warming will not go quietly into the freezer. Some scientists persist in their contention that, come what may, humans will still be causing global warming. It will just be chilling in the background; sort of doing something, but not really doing anything. Sort of like now.

The U.S. Department of Interior made history this afternoon by invoking the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to protect the polar bear from global warming. This is the first time the ESA has been used to protect a species from human generated CO2, and the implications bode ominous for the human race. While there are said to be provisions in the designation that will offer protections to power companies and other businesses,¹ it is unlikely that individual consumers will be afforded protection from this sweeping legislation.

Ostensibly, motorists could be forced to have their vehicles fitted with monitoring devices that record aggressive green-house driving habits and relay that data to federal agencies that could, in turn, mail out citations to drivers in the same way that speeders get ticketed by red light cameras. Even before these evasive controls are implemented, a new ESA tax could be added at the gas pump to modify driver behavior. Of course, this is only speculation

Yet, the probability of these federally mandated causes and effects are much clearer to trace than the murky science behind claims that the polar bear is endangered; even from natural climate cycles, much less from anthropomorphically induced global warming.

Residents in Denver, Colorado have been participating in a voluntary program to reduce vehicle CO2 emissions. Two transmission devices using a cellular telephone network to transmit driving data are installed on the car. Driver behavior is then tracked and sent to servers and recorded to generate driver profiles. After a month, drivers can access a secure server to see how “driving habits contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.”¹ These devices have already been installed on all Denver city and county vehicles.

The devices measure “aggressive driving, engine idling, and speeding.”² The stated goal of the program is to identify aggressive green-house driving and modify that behavior. “Denver’s bet is that its citizens are eager to participate in this Community-based program to address the global warming problem.”³ It’s a bet they’ve hedged with propaganda and high-tech to cash in on coming new green-house violation surcharges to be added to traffic tickets. As more and more cities look for ways of balancing budgets with new taxes and fees, look for more green-house voluntary programs like these to be initiated and then converted to vehicle codes.

The interest in Antarctic climate change models stems from the purported potential of a melt-down there increasing global sea levels by 200 feet. Avoiding such a catastrophe is a major sales pitch in the global warming scare campaign for reduced standards of living, and forestalling development in developing countries. But the models the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) relied on for the Antarctic projections have proven to be to be flawed.

While not baking away from the global warming theory, David Bromwich, professor of geography at Ohio State University did acknowledge that: “It does imply that with the ocean north of Antarctica and the continent itself, there are some significant issues with the current climate models.”¹ Those issues can be expressed like this: models producing climate change figures two and a half to five times greater than what they are in reality. Any warming that can be detected is occurring at a much slower pace than the IPCC models forecasted.

Even more at issue now is the credibility of those who tout scientific “consensus” for the global warming theory, and whether or not credibility itself will reemerge as more important to scientific research than politics. The forecast, however, for this warranted about face is bleak; as politics also equals grant money.

Although California is expected to come up short on water this summer due to abnormally low rainfall, the extended forecast calls for climate cooling that could be harmful to California’s agriculture industry. NASA scientists, using a satellite, have measured the shape and temperature of the oceans’ surfaces to identify currents and calculate their impact on climate change. The data has revealed that a slow cycling long-term fluctuation in the Pacific called the Pacific Decadal Oscillation is entering its cool phase, and this translates into 20 to 30 years of cold weather. How this affects climate is by altering the course of the jet stream, driving it further north to bring more storms to the United States. This means shorter growing periods, and colder temperatures overall.¹

Meteorologist Anthony Watts is warning the wine, fruit, and nuts industry to be on guard for threats of frost, and even the apples will not be safe.²

While it might be an appealing political solution for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to sponsor tax rebates for the purchase of Hummers and other large SUV’s, scientists say that CO2 emissions have absolutely no effect on such large natural climate changes. Ironically for the global warming theorists, this change in the PDO is from a previous warm cycle that accounted for, in part, warmer temperatures over the past two decades.

Another Climate ingredient seemingly unaccounted for by the UN’s IPCC has researches at NASA forecasting colder global temperatures for the next 20 to 30 years. A slow cycling ocean pattern known as Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) has moved in to what’s being called “its cool phase,”¹ and this spells cold and wet weather for the entire planet. Reluctant to discard the global warming theory, however, scientists speculate it will remain active behind the scenes to endure the coming little ice age. Maybe it will move to Florida?

The idea behind the theory of Global Warming is that mankind’s influence over climate is so powerful that nothing short of sharp reductions in our use of fossil fuels will prevent catastrophic consequences in the next few years. Alas, scientific research into climate change continues to produce data which disputes the theory, and now Noel Keenlyside, marine scientist in Germany, finds that temperatures for the coming decade will be opposite those forecasted by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC). “The IPCC would predict a 0.3°C warming over the next decade,” Keenlyside reports, “Our prediction is that there will be no warming until 2015 but it will pick up after that.”¹

The reason for the discrepancy between the two predictions is that the IPCC neglected to use these ocean temperature figures in their climate models. This would lead them, for example, to misinterpret the cause for 1998 supposedly being one of the warmest years on record. What should the IPCC models have included in them? El Nino, and Gulf Stream records reveal them as the real culprits.

But don’t look for retractions from the IPCC, or Al Gore, just yet. Scientists getting paid to be in the global warming camp are now in the majority, and the few who dare to publish their findings that discredit them timidly advance that natural climate variations only “temporarily offset” manmade global warming.²

In related news, snow surveys conducted by state and federal agencies in the United States are forecasting the best year for water runoff in 11 years in places like Colorado, which has a snow pack that is 23% above average. These wet conditions are also said to be in store for the Pacific Northwest, where snowfall has been significant, and cold temperatures have prevented it from melting before the spring thaw. Lake Powell and other reservoirs are expected to gain enough water from the runoff for hydroelectric plants “to power 33,00 homes for a year,”³ in addition to reversing drought conditions (an 8% increase) . The culprit in this cool development: the Jet Stream. With temporary offsets like these, who needs the IPCC? Answer: politicians without a career, and a United Nations without a claim to authority.

The first jackboot of Global Warming fanaticism hit the floor down under when Australian professor Barry Walters revealed plans for penalizing people who refused to circumscribe their lives by the doomsday theory of global warming. As is usually the case when political factions can’t win the day with facts, they campaign to force their views through punitive taxation coupled with special exemptions for extraordinary compliance. Thus Walter’s $800 annual carbon tax per child for families who surpassed the states two-child limit could be offset by carbon credits earned from voluntary sterilization.¹

Since the Walters leak last December global warming faithful have been scrambling for a microphone and an outrageous new proposal to make. While the competition has been fierce, it appears that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has pulled ahead of the pack by renewing his call for global carbon taxation, and adding new penalties for suspected global warmers.

The mayor pitched his worldwide carbon tax plan at the UN’s “Addressing Climate Change: the United Nations and the world at Work” conference. There were few surprises in his call for the UN to punitively tax countries, including America, to create an incentive for them to tow the global warming party line (he wants Americans to levy the tax on themselves, and then turn the revenues over to the UN). The other boot dropped, however, when Bloomberg began drawing parallels between suspected global warmers and terrorists.

Bloomberg likened suspected global warmers to terrorists as having “the same potentials of destroying the planet we live on.”² While the mayor used the tactic of place card switching, substituting the verb of global warming for the people actually in his cross hairs, his vociferous call to action against those who fail to subscribe to the theory of global warming must have been unmistakable to the crowd at the UN. Then Bloomberg got to the point in his discursive sophistry which was to declare hunting season on these enemies of the UN State. “We should go after terrorists every place in this world, find them and kill them, plain and simple,” said the rising master of double entendre.³ To make sure his double meaning was not lost, Bloomberg artfully avoided mentioning that the real terrorists are Muslim, and this no doubt gave the UN despots some villains they could finally draw sabers against.

Quick to lace up and jump on board with Bloomberg in the hunt for suspected warmers was airline mogul Richard Branson, owner of Virgin Atlantic Airways. Branson pledged the financial might of his Luftwaffe, to the tune of $25 million, for scientists to find a “solution” for heading off the impending environmental catastrophe.⁴

This search for a final solution seems to be an eerily recurring theme in the Green Reich, and Branson might be letting slip that he is poised for military maneuvers, of sorts. In what may be an effort to unleash his air force by official UN sanction, Branson hinted at the formation of a global UN situation room form where, presumably, targets could be assessed and air strikes could be launched. “We need a war room,” Branson told the UN attendees, who by that time must have set in rapt euphoria, listening to celebrities and members in United States government competing to find out who could click their heels the loudest. It will be interesting to see in the next round of fanaticism how heil they can go.

For the Global Warming faithful, technology and religious fervor are combining to provide new means for adulation. In order to reduce carbon emissions caused by jet travel, Prince Charles will attend the upcoming World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi via hologram. His three dimensional image will be beamed to the stage and deliver a five minute talk, thus marking a first for the royal family, and pleasing environmentalists.

Charles is not the first world figure to employ the technique of reduction and reanimation. Last year Al Gore made a holographic appearance at a Live Earth gathering at Whembley Stadium.

That the religious faithful of environmentalism readily receive their Icons in obvious simulation, at what amounts to their worship services, is telling for the condition of the world.

Technology and human behavior are showing Bible prophecy to be less a product of metaphysical language and symbolism, and more the literal word of God; explicitly detailing the future. Bible passages that were once wondered at with some perplexity now seem to specify circumstances and events that fallen religious man will easily acclimate to.

Prophecy speaks of two world leaders who are yet to come on the stage of human history and rule by both civil and religious authority. One of them will serve the other in capacity of prophet, magnifying him with miracles:

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. (Rev 13:14)

His boss, identified as the Antichrist, will have survived an assassination attempt prompting this religious display. And just as members to the Green Reich are mandating their observances into law today, penalties will also be established for dissidents in the near future:

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. (Rev 13:15)

Many in Christendom allegorize these end-time prophecies found in The Revelation, or claim that they were fulfilled by the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 by the Romans. But the reality of unfolding world events continues to contradict that view. While no one knows the identity of the coming two leaders, the world is proving ready to follow them when they are finally revealed.

Details of a final solution plan are surfacing as Global Warming insiders break silence and go public with the methods of choice for ushering in a Green Reich. Professor Barry Walters of Australia leaked particulars of the radical agenda that includes a birth levy of $5,000 and an annual carbon tax of $800 thereafter for families exceeding two children.

But that may be only the tip of the “greenhouse-friendly”¹ living conditions to be enforced on wayward humans who are “profligate”² consumers before the goddess Gaia. Other services will be offered to allow the irreverent to earn carbon credits and will include credits for voluntarily undergoing sterilization.

Ostensibly, parents who are unable to meet the tax burdens will have their children confiscated and terminated, and then be forced to undergo sterilization themselves. No word yet on the amount of carbon credits earned during this penalty phase of greenhouse-friendly service.

A meteorite crashed down in Peru last weekend leaving hundreds of people sick who ventured near the crater. Witnesses reported seeing “fiery ball falling from the sky” before it landed in the remote area near the Bolivian border. So far, 200 people are reporting symptoms which include nausea and respiratory difficulties. The health department director for the area has attributed the cause of the illnesses to toxic fumes released from the crater which measures 66 feet wide by 16 feet deep.

Other experts are skeptical, and suggest the cause is the dust that was raised by the impact. Geologist Ursala Mervin, who has studied meteorites at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in Massachusetts, indicated that if gas were present it would not have come from the meteorite, but instead from the earth; and in too small an amount to have any effect.

Photographs of the crater show a pool of water has accumulated in it, probably from rain, and there is local concern “that toxic fumes from the meteor are polluting water in the area.” So far eight doctors have been dispatched to tend to the sick, but there is no word on the water quality yet. There is word on a future such event that will bring catastrophic results:
